State Duma elections of the Russian Federation of the seventh convocation

On September 18, 2016, in single ballot day, State Duma elections of the Russian Federation of the seventh convocation will take place. Elections will take place according to the new legislative arrangements established by the federal laws "About Elections of Deputies of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation" of February 22, 2014, "About basic guarantees of the electoral rights and the participation rights in a referendum of citizens of the Russian Federation" of June 12, 2002 and also other regulatory legal acts.

This day citizens of the Russian Federation will elect 450 deputies of the lower house of parliament for a period of five years.

Fifty percent of deputy corps – 225 people – will be elected on the single-candidate constituencies (one deputy – one district) formed in the territory of subjects of the Russian Federation.

The second half – on the federal constituency including all territory of Russia in proportion to a poll of the voters given for lists of candidates of parties.

The president of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov has headed republican group of the list of United Russia party.
