Increased fish purchases for schools and government agencies
Russian President Vladimir Putin has instructed the Cabinet of Ministers to prepare proposals by March 1 to increase fish purchases to meet state and municipal needs, and a list of instructions following an October 29 meeting with government members is posted on the Kremlin's website.
"To prepare for the Government of the Russian Federation with the participation of the Russian Ministry of Defense, the Ministry of Emergency Situations Russia, Rosrezerva, Rosgvardiya, executive bodies of the constituent entities of the Russian Federation and submit proposals to increase the volume of purchases of fish products to meet state and municipal needs, paying attention to purchases to provide nutrition to students in educational institutions, as well as purchases in the interests of the Russian Ministry of Defense, the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations, the Federal Penitentiary Service Russia, Rosrezerva and Rosgvardiya," the document says.
The deadline is March 1, 2026.
