Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin has changed the procedure for purchasing cars and vehicles for state and municipal needs. Priority is now given to eco—friendly modes of transport - electric vehicles and gas-powered vehicles.
"Such a decision should help improve the environment and support domestic enterprises that produce environmentally friendly transport," commented Marat Ziatdinov, Chairman of the Tatarstan State Procurement Committee.
In regions where there is no necessary infrastructure for charging or refueling, it is allowed to purchase gasoline or diesel cars, but with mandatory justification. Amendments were made to Government Resolutions No. 926 and No. 927 of September 2, 2015, regulating the requirements for purchased vehicles.
