Transition to domestic software of some banks and other financial companies: the amended law is published
Credit institutions should gradually switch to the preferential use of Russian software, radio-electronic products and telecom equipment at significant facilities of critical information infrastructure. To do this, it is necessary to coordinate with the Central Bank of the Russian Federation a plan of transitional measures and follow it. The law will come into force on September 12, 2023.
The purchase of foreign software, radio-electronic products, telecom equipment and services that are needed for their use at such facilities will be allowed only according to applications agreed with the Central Bank of the Russian Federation.
The regulator will monitor compliance with the requirements.
Similar rules will be established for non-credit financial organizations.
Recall that many customers under Federal Law No. 223, including from the financial sector, have been banned from using foreign Software at these facilities since 2025. And purchases under this law of such software and services for its application must be coordinated with the Ministry of Finance.
