The Republic of Tatarstan is showing impressive growth in the segment of small technology companies (MTCs) actively involved in public procurement. According to the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Tatarstan, the region ranks third in Russia in terms of the number of such innovative enterprises working with government orders.
Since the beginning of 2025, the number of MTCs in Tatarstan has increased almost 1.5 times, from about 160 to 239 companies. This indicates a favorable business climate and effective measures to support high-tech business in the republic.
Tatarstan small technology companies show financial results higher than the average Russian ones. The average revenue of MTK in the republic reached 252 million rubles. In the first 9 months of 2025, Tatarstan's innovative enterprises signed about 45,000 government contracts totaling 215 billion rubles. The republic accounts for 3.9% of all Russian MTK suppliers, which is a significant indicator for the region. For comparison, Moscow (42.8% of all MTCs in the country) and St. Petersburg (8.2%) occupy the leading positions.
Today, there are about 6.4 thousand companies in the country's MTC registry, with total revenue of 1.2 trillion rubles. By 2030, their number should reach 12 thousand, and the total revenue should exceed 2.1 trillion rubles. The systematic work is carried out within the framework of the national project "Efficient and Competitive Economy", which was formed this year by the federal project "Technologies".
