The Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation has initiated the introduction of forward contracts to support microelectronics manufacturers. This was announced by the head of the department Anton Alikhanov during a speech at the Microelectronics 2025 forum in Sirius.
The main purpose of the innovations is to create legal protection for electronics developers when concluding long—term contracts. We are talking about contracts under which the customer and the contractor agree on the purchase and sale of goods or services in the future on the terms defined now. The subject of a forward contract may include the development and production of innovative solutions that do not yet exist.
The business expects that against the background of a shortage of demand, this will provide the market with long-term contracts for the development of new technologies and reduce the cost of manufacturing domestic electronics.
Legislative initiatives are expected to be submitted to the Government before the beginning of 2026.
