"80 days to Victory" campaign starts in Tatarstan
The action is timed to coincide with the anniversary of victory in the Great Patriotic War and the year of Defender of the Fatherland. During the 80 days preceding May 9, events aimed at preserving the memory of the heroism of Soviet soldiers and the historical truth about the war will be held in the cities and districts of Tatarstan.
"Educating young people in the spirit of patriotism and instilling love for the Motherland is one of the priorities of our ministry's activities. The younger generation should know their history and remember the exploits of their ancestors," said Rinat Sadykov, Minister of Youth Affairs of the Republic of Tatarstan.
The Republican military sports game "Victory-2025" starts today on the basis of the Patriot Center. The final of the game, which has been held for 12 years, is attended by 15 teams from different parts of the republic – more than 200 boys and girls who have passed the qualifying stages. In total, over 12 thousand teenagers participated in them. Participants will have to demonstrate knowledge of history, military training, as well as first aid skills, assembly and disassembly of a machine gun and overcoming an obstacle course.
The action "Student Flame of Memory" starts in Kazan Victory Park. For two months, students from different universities will pass the flame, participate in commemorative events, meet with veterans and implement projects dedicated to the Great Patriotic War. The action will end with the unification of all the lights in Victory Park, symbolizing the connection of generations.
The city's volunteer corps dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Victory will also open today. And in the evening, the premiere of the play "Warsaw Melody" will take place at the Constellation Yoldyzlyk Theater.
Days of Unified Action will be held in all municipalities of Tatarstan. Among them are the actions "Memory Lesson", "Memory Wall", recording videos of "Living memory of the past years", laying flowers and many other events.
