At a meeting on September 13, 2024, the Board of Directors of the Bank of Russia decided to raise the key rate to 19% per annum.
This is the second increase since December 2023 — first, the Central Bank raised the rate from 15% to 16% and kept it at this level for seven months, and then on 07/29/2023 the key rate was raised to 18% per annum.
The next meeting of the Board of Directors of the Central Bank of the Russian Federation, which will consider the issue of the level of the key rate, is scheduled for October 25, 2024.
The size of the key rate is important when calculating penalties to customers and suppliers for late fulfillment of obligations under the contract in accordance with parts 5 and Part 7 of Article 34 of Law No. 44-FZ.
