The government has expanded the list of strategically important medicines

The Government of the Russian Federation has expanded the list of strategically important medicines to include 149 new international nonproprietary names (INN). The corresponding decree was signed on July 7, 2026.

The updated list includes drugs for the treatment of socially significant and especially dangerous infections, as well as vital medicines.: abatacept, infliximab, tocilizumab, denosumab, ustekinumab, tigecycline, metformin, insulin glulisine, filgrastim, epoetin alfa and others.

All these drugs should be manufactured in Russia with a full localization cycle. They receive priority in public procurement, which is aimed at strengthening the country's drug safety.
