The Republican Sabantuy was held in Votkinsk
Today, Votkinsk hosted the republican Tatar-Bashkir holiday "Sabantuy", dedicated to the end of spring field work. The event brought together guests from Udmurtia, Tatarstan, Bashkortostan and other regions, becoming a bright symbol of friendship and unity of peoples.
The grand opening began with greetings from officials. From the State Committee of the Republic of Tatarstan on Procurement and the Procurement Development Center, Niyaz Gazeev read out the greeting of the Rais of the Republic of Tatarstan, Rustam Minnikhanov, which noted the special significance of Sabantuy in the Year of Unity of Peoples. Mayor of Izhevsk, Dmitry Chistyakov, said in his speech: "Today I am a Tatar," emphasizing the commonality of cultures and the hospitality of the holiday.
Guests were treated to national wrestling "Köresh," competitions in kettlebell lifting, arm wrestling, yoke running, and pole climbing, as well as traditional games, the "Matur Kiyem" costume contest, and the "Flowers of Friendship" event. The creative program was presented by groups from three republics. Exhibitions and master classes were held in the courtyards.
