The Ministry of Industry and Trade proposed to oblige defense industry enterprises to purchase Russian hand tools

The Agency has prepared draft amendments to Government Decree No. 1875. Currently, organizations of the military-industrial complex may not apply a ban on the purchase of imported goods for a number of items, including hand-held electric tools (item 53), until the end of 2026.

The draft proposes to exclude this position from the list of permitted ones. If the amendments are adopted, defense industry customers will be required to purchase hand tools only from Russian manufacturers on a general basis.

In an explanatory note, the agency notes that domestic companies are already ready to completely cover the needs of defense enterprises. The register of Russian industrial products now includes products from 16 manufacturers.
